Delivery & Returns

We have two options for our delivery service - Delivered and Fitted or Delivered Excluding Fitting

Delivered and fitted

Delivered and fitted is were Auto Hero brings the battery to you and fits it. This was the original concept and our most popular option.

It gives you peace of mind that the battery is replaced correctly, whilst saving you time and any hassle.

This option is important if your vehicle has start/stop technology because in the majority of cases the vehicle diagnostic system and battery management system will need to be programmed and reset so it knows a new battery has been fitted, this allows all the electronic systems to operate correctly and enables the alternator to charge the new battery correctly. Our comprehensive diagnostic tools allow us to perform this action.

Our online booking system allows you to select a date and time that is convenient to you when buying with our Delivered and Fitted option.

We provide you with a morning or afternoon appointment with a 3 hour window for when we will arrive. The allows you to plan your day and saves you the hassle of waiting in all day for us to arrive.


Delivered Excluding Fitting

Our Delivered Excluding Fitting option is were Auto Hero delivers the battery to your selected address, allowing you to either fit the battery yourself or arrange for it to be fitted by a 3rd party. We aim to deliver the battery the same day if ordered before 11am, if ordered after 11am the battery will be delivered the next day (Monday - Friday only) No deliveries available on weekends.

Click & Collect

Our Click & Collect service allows you pay online and then pick the battery up at your convenience. This is handy if you don't want to wait in for us to arrive.

As Auto Hero is a division of Motorway Hessle Ltd, this is were you will be collecting your order. Please bring your order confirmation (print out or email on your phone and I.D) The order can only be released after these are seen.

We can only accept returns on batteries that have not been fitted, and in its original condition as supplied to you, including the original voltage. Please return to us within 30 days of delivery.

We do not offer a collection service for unwanted returns, the battery will have to be returned to our address by yourself.

Guarantee claims - For any guarantee claims please contact us by phone or email. If you purchased your battery with our Delivered & Fitted service we can visit you to test the battery and replace if it's deemed faulty. Please note we reserve the right to charge a £20 call out charge for any battery that is found to not be faulty after we have attended and carried out our test. For instance batteries can go flat for various reason and doesn't necessarily mean they are faulty

If you purchased a battery with our Click & Collect service please return the battery or bring the vehicle to our address and we can test the battery and then exchange the battery if it's deemed to be faulty.

Please note the battery must still be within it's guarantee period and proof of purchase is required.

Your statutory rights are unaffected by any of our terms and conditions.

How It Works

  • Enter your car reg number and your postcode.
  • Select your required battery. Pick a time and place convenient to you, in most cases we are able to visit you the same or next day (subject to availability). Or click & collect from our store in Hessle.
  • Then settle the payment, pay by cash, credit/debit card, Paypal or Klarna
  • We will fit your new battery at your chosen time and check you are happy with the work.
